Are ID sim cards locked in other handsets

My son has smashed his phone.  When I put the sim in an old handset its suggesting it’s locked.  Is the the ID sim locking it or the old network the phone was used for ie. vodaphone

Hi @BethH,

Our SIM cards should work in another phone if it is unlocked so it sounds as though the phone you’re using is locked to the old network provider. You would need to contact them for further support here I’m afraid.
