I have signal but texts won't send

I have signal and seem to be able to call anf receive texts but can't send texts to other people. It comes up failed to send error 500

I have been with the network on this phone for over a year so its not like I'm switching phones or networks like most of the queries on texts not sending seem to be. 

I have done the classic turn it off turn it on again but that hasn't helped and have no system updates so I'm a bit stumped on what to do

Tried contacting ID but have had no success getting through so if anyone can help I would appreciate it!

We are sorry to hear this. There was an unplanned outage on 16/01/21 which caused the SMS issue. This has now been resolved and you should now be able to send/receive text messages. If you are still experiencing this issue, please let us know.
