Text displays wrong number (Android)

I just moved to ID mobile and ported my old number.  Everything is fine apart from text messages.  

When I  send a text with wifi off, it works as expected. The recipient sees a text from the number I've been using for years.

But when I send a text with wifi on, so it is sent as a chat rather than a text, they see a text from the temporary number ID gave me when I joined. If they reply to that text it doesn't work because the number no longer exists.

I have seen other people with this problem on the ID community, but they all have iPhones. I use Android, so need a different fix.

Can anyone help?
