Question

Wi-Fi calling

I am really struggling to utilise wi fi calling.  I have an unlocked S8 that appears unable to make a call via WiFi.  Tried restart, various combinations of airplane mode etc etc

Previous phone was sim free A5 that had no problems with its connection.

Is this an iD problem or the phone

Go To setting / mobile network / advance / WiFi calling. Turn off and turn on calling.

Hi @Nickr0,

Did you manage to get this sorted as per @Petershaha80’s advice?

Ryan

No there is no "advance" within the mobile network setting.

i was not that clear in my post.  i have tried various combinations and routes to turn wifi calling on.  via settings in the phone "app".  shortcut settings in tbe pull down menu.

the setting states i have activated wifi calling but I am sure it is not working as i am unable to make an outgoing call.

yes wifi is 100% ok

Hi @Nickr0,

May I ask where you bought the handset from? Some sellers only enable WiFi calling on their own network you see.

Will

This may explain the problem.   It is an unlocked ex Vodafone as a temporary handset

Hi @Nickr0,

The phone may have firmware present which limits the phones use with certain features including Wi-Fi calling so this may be the cause of it not working.

Why iD Mobile?
