Can I change my account to my married name?

Hi - I got married recently and would like to update my account details to my married name. How can I do this?

Although the above response is clearly the official line, I thought it might save people some time to share the more specific advice I was given.

I phoned up to enquire about this (the live chat never seems to work for me), and after answering a long series of security questions was told to go into a Carphone Warehouse store, so that they could verify my Deed Poll.

I went in today, and the assistant in the shop was very efficient, phoned the change through, and it showed up on my account straight away. So if you have a store near you (many are now counters inside Curry’s/PC World), it’s worth popping in and seeing if they can sort it for you.
