Direct debit cancellation after account closure and final balance paid

My account was closed on 25/09/20 and my final bill was taken by direct debit on 05/10/20 so I closed my direct debit. I have since received an email asking why I have closed the direct debit and they want me to reinstate it. The question is why ?, I have no more to pay and the account closure was asked for.
