It’s that time again where we give you a run down of everything that’s been going on in the iD Community this past month. Where do we start?

We’ve done it… 50,000 Community members!

We at iD have been in a celebratory mood recently, and that’s because we’ve reached 50,000 members! The iD Community has never been bigger, and has become a hub of activity, support, chit-chat and community spirit. Nothing makes us happier than seeing new members get stuck in and seasoned superheroes helping them get acquainted. Here’s to the next big milestone!

The numbers…

As well as hitting that big 50k, the Community has seen 1,600 new members join over the past few weeks. Welcome Newbies! Not only that, but you guys have posted nearly 300 new topics, 1000 replies and well over 300 positive content helpfulness scores. Cheers to everyone that’s keeping active on here and helping make this place the wonderful knowledge base it is.

We’ve had a face lift...

We’ve updated the Community homepage banner to a fresh, modern and sleek new look. The new banner is a simpler and cleaner design which integrates more smoothly with the rest of the homepage, utilising the Community’s icons all in an effort to improve user experience. In the coming months we will be looking at redesigning alot of our banners to improve the look and feel of the iD Community. We are always open to hearing your feedback, why not let us know your thoughts on the new banner, simply comment below.

Shout outs!

Our Community is full of brilliant people, and it’s our job to shout it from the rooftops. With that in mind, we’d like to take the opportunity to give a heartfelt thanks to four members who really ‘get’ what it is to be a community.

@WelshPaul , @andewhite , @terrywebbs  and @Gregor  – you guys have all been stalwarts from the moment you signed up to the Community, and that’s showing no signs of slowing down. Between you, you’ve helped countless iD members get acclimatised, both to the iD Community itself and other aspects of the iD world like the app, billing, switching, operating systems and more. We can’t thank you enough for the effort you’ve put in – you really are heroes and legends!

And don’t forget, if you want your name to be featured in the monthly Community round-up, keep chatting away, starting new topics and helping fellow Community members. We’re great at spotting superhero potential 😉.

Help and Support hub

The first improvement we’ve made around here over the past month is our brand-new Help and Support hub. Here, you’ve got easy access to all 12 Community categories, as well as links to all our additional services like the iD app, Live Chat, and our Automated Phone Service.

To find it, just scroll to the top of the iD Community, click the Help and Support drop-down, then Help and Support homepage’.

The most popular category last month was… Device & Phone Support

Device & Phone Support has now been the most popular category for three months in a row. Among all the activity, we’ve seen a number of questions about the new iPhone 13 range, verification codes and Wi-Fi Calling, to name a few standout topics. Let’s see if we can help…

Will the iPhone 13 work with 5G on iD Mobile?

Good question, and the answer is yes! Every iPhone 13 including the Mini, Pro and Pro Max have been added to our list of iD Mobile 5G approved devices. You’ll just need to keep your phone up to date with the latest software and be in an area with 5G coverage to make the most of those superfast speeds.

Wi-Fi Calling

Wi-Fi Calling lets you send texts and make calls, even when you have poor signal, while you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. It’s a free service that’s available with every iD Mobile plan and SIM, but the ability to use it also depends on the phone’s compatibility.

Due to compatibility with varying firmware versions on some phones, not all phones work with iD Mobile Wi-Fi calling. But don’t worry, you can view our list of Wi-Fi Calling compatible phones. And that includes the full iPhone 13 family.

Verification codes

Verification codes are a fact of life from logging into your mobile banking to making payments, to logging into your work emails. They’re an essential part of the smartphone experience. so, you should be able to access them whenever you need.

Unfortunately, some phones automatically block certain types of SMS, which can include verification codes. However, you can reverse that in your messaging app whichever phone you use. Here’s how:

iPhone:

  1. On the Home Screen, choose Settings.
  2. Within settings select Messages.
  3. Under SMS/MMS, select Blocked
  4. Tap Edit in top right corner
  5. Tap the (-) sign by the verification number on the blocked list and choose unblocked.
  6. Select Done

Android:

  1. Open your Messaging app.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Toggle the Show blocked SMS switch.

That's it from us this month. We’ll let you know about all the new, exciting updates and changes we make in next month’s roundup. And don’t forget, if there's more Community-related info you'd like to see from these monthly updates, let us know below. Have an ace October!
