Welcome back once again! It’s that time where we give you the latest lowdown on all things iD.

So, what’s been happening around here?


We’re almost there… 50K

Our Community is so close to reaching a major milestone in the next few weeks – the 50,000-member mark is just around the corner! There’s never been more people active on here, chatting to each other, working to answer questions and solve issues. We couldn’t be happier to see so many of you getting involved, earning points on the leaderboard, and climbing through the Community ranks. We can’t wait to see even more new members join the fold and what expertise they will bring along with them.

Who will the next iD Superhero be? Who else can make it to the top of the points leaderboard? Can anyone else achieve Legend status? Only time will tell!

Got ideas about what you’d like to see posted here? The iD Mobile Community team is on a mission to bring you stuff we know you’ll love, every single month. That’s why we want you guys to have your say…

We’re working on implementing a survey tool which will allow members to provide feedback on the types of content they are interested in and would like to see on the Community and in our monthly Community newsletter.

Until we can create and implement this tool, why not have your say now and leave us some feedback in the comments of this post?


Check the leaderboard:

As you all know, we’re always on the lookout for ways to make the Community easier to navigate. From finding answers to your own questions, to helping others and ranking up on the leaderboard, we want it all to feel like second nature. And that means the occasional spring clean!

We’ve removed the leaderboard tab from the top navigation bar to make things look a lot cleaner, we also noticed it wasn’t being used as much as we had hoped. The removal of this tab will help you get to where you want to be, faster.

Still want to check out the full page leaderboard? No problem! Just scroll down on the iD Community homepage and you’ll see the short leaderboard on the right. Simply click ‘show full leaderboard’ and you can check out both the weekly and all-time rankings on a nice full-page breakdown. Easy.


Shop shortcut:

Need to get to the iD Mobile online shop to buy a new phone or SIM deal? It’s easier than ever! We’ve added a link to the iD Mobile shop right at the top of the home page, so you can head straight there from the Community. Whichever Community page you are on, you’ll see the link to the shop in the same place. So, you’re only ever one click away from browsing our SIM only plans and new devices.


Help articles:

Whatever question you have, whether it’s about your phone, network coverage, billing, or anything else, you should find the answer you’re looking for here. No stress. That’s why we’re making the iD Community easier to navigate.

You’ll see that at the top of the page, we’ve changed our ‘Support categories’ section to ‘Help articles’ to make things a little clearer. We’ve also added more help articles within this section, to help you reach the answers you need, when you need them.

In the dropdown you will find 12 categories that consists of helpful advice to frequently asked questions. There should be an answer to every possible question within these categories. However, If you have a question that isn’t answered by one of the articles, don’t be afraid to let us know, that way we can fill in any knowledge gaps and strengthen the help and support we provide through these categories.  


The most popular category last month was… Device & Phone Support


Unlocked phones

We’ve seen a few questions recently asking if iD Mobile phones are unlocked. From December 2022, mobile phone networks in the UK will be unable to sell phones that are locked to a network. That means you won’t need to get your phone unlocked to move to a new network. Better still, we’ve already started!

All of the phones we sell on the iD Mobile website are fully unlocked. So, if you ever want to switch networks, you don’t have to go through a long process to get there. Half the task is already done. Ideal.


Community Newsletter:

Not receiving the iD Community Newsletter? Well, simply login to the iD Mobile app, and go to the 'My Account' page, select 'Edit preferences' on the 'Keep me in the loop' tile, then select 'Email' and save your settings. Now you’ll be up to date with all the latest news, articles and competitions.
