Being chased by debt collecrors, no way of cancelling contract

I contacted ID to cancel my daughter’s contract. I was told I had to give one month’s notice. I waited a month and then cancelled the direct debit.

CARS began chasing us for £20 debt rather aggressively. We paid.

Now we are being chased by Overdales for another £20. This is totally out of order as as far as we were concerned we cancelled the contract. The phone number/SIM has not been used for months and yet you pass on the debt.

Please help as we are finding it impossible to get through to ID by phone.

Cancelling the Direct Debit just stops the payment method linked to an iD account.
The contract will not be cancelled, and any bills will be unpaid because there isn’t then a payment method linked to the plan.

Are 100% certain your daughter’s contract has been cancelled?

You can try calling iD Mobile on 0800 049 0250 (during normal office hours) - good luck.

Hi @freya66, as @andewhite says, cancelling the Direct Debit simply changes the payment method on the account. If you wanted to disconnect the line, you would need to request this.

There are numerous ways to do so. Give this Community article a read on what to do.

Thank you,

Rory
