After recent switch from talktalk to Vodafone for broadband and home landline I can’t phone my hoe landline.  All other calls, texts, etc. are working normally,   Home phone doesn’t ring and mobile simply diplays message “call ended”.  So far Vodafone have not provided a solution.  Similar topic raide 2months ago on this hub and proble was solved, but no details of solution provided on line.  It’s 2 weeks now since the switch - can anybody please help?

Probably best to resolve this issue by using the iD online Live Chat service, to speak to a customer adviser @Phil Perry.

The advisers work until 8pm on weekdays - just tell the 24/7 chatbot you’d like to “talk to a person”.

So its the same landline number and the same home phone?

And you could call your landline using your mobile prior to migrating over to Vodafone?

The only thing that’s changed is the internet supplier and the router?

Are you on FTTC or FTTP and whichever one it is now on it was the same with the previous supplier?

What happens if you drop the 0 on the area code and add +44?

What happens if you add 141 then the full landline number?

If you have Wi-Fi calling enabled on the mobile and you toggle this off and then call your landline number does it then ring?

(sorry for all the questions)

Info requested by @Daz Smith

I have the same mobile and landline numbers as before switch

I could always call from mobile to landline before switch

Only change is broadband (with router} and landline provider

As far as I know I’m on FTTP

However I dial my landline number it does not ring.

@bryn19 Raised exactly the same problem about 2 months ago and that was solved by an ID Mobile employee known as Tom

Wrong person, I bet Mr Smith is scratching his head😉, not a problem and you’re not the first one.

(I’ll get to bryn19’s topic in a mo as I commented on that one too)

So on the face of it it does kinda point to this not being an issue caused by iDM.

Again the only common factor between you and bryn19 was the migration from TT to Voda. As you both have identical issues and Tom (iDM staff) took that one private and fixed the issue I now wonder if there’s some sort of server/routing clash between iDM and Vodafone. But if that was the case why aren’t these forums full of repeat reports?

You’ll know if you’re on FTTP as you should have an ONT (white or black box near the incoming fibre connection with green lights on it and this is plugged into the mains) and possibly a red Ethernet cable going from the ONT to the WAN connection on the router.

If this is an iDM created problem then this is interesting. And if it is I’m not sure how they caused this. Unless iDM and Vodafone use similar servers and they’re not ‘shaking hands’ correctly.

Hopefully somebody from iDM can ask Tom what he did and they can do the same. This sounds like its beyond my help.

But I hope iDM tell you who caused this and how they fixed it as I’m keen to know why this happens.

Since moving over to ID from BT both my phone and the wife's will not ring our home phone number either.  I've been cursing for weeks blaming the phones but can't find a reason.

Hi @Nick 1260 ,

Thanks for reaching out, and I’m really sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve been having since switching to iD Mobile.

If both your phones are unable to call your home number, it could be a routing issue or a network setting that needs to be looked into. We’d love to help get this sorted for you.
