Card verification failed

I'm looking to upgrade from an Honour 9X on a sim only deal to a pay monthly deal for the iPhone 12 mini, I went to do this on the ID app and entered my billing address details and bank correctly but says there is an error and I'm still charged 1p. I have the money to pay upfront cost and the monthly it's no issue. But I've been stressed out all day on trying to upgrade to the new iPhone
