Changing to a higher plan mid-month

I’ve just changed my plan from 3gb to 8gb part way through my billing month - will the new level of data be pro-rated and added to the rest of this current month?

Also, I have 2 plans, and one had already used over the data allowance, if the new level of data is pro-rated and added, will it absorb this usage, or will I still pay extra for this?
