I have an ID mobile sim and I recently bought an Iphone XR and am using it both for work and personal use and would like to know whether ID supports eSIM’s so I can use my ID sim in the phone in conjunction with my work sim?

@rebeccatowey

At present the only networks in the UK that currently support this new technology are:

o2

EE

Truphone

Ubigi

ID Mobile currently do not support this

Three also supports eSIM:

Given that Three is the network operator behind iD Mobile, why shouldn’t we expect this feature to come also to iD?

Hi @kashmiri,

You make a good point; we don’t have any news regarding the support for this however but any changes will be mentioned on our website.

UPDATE:

Breaking news more networks in the UK now support this new eSim technology:

o2

EE

Truphone

Ubigi

Three

Vodafone

esim.net

----------------------------------------------------------------

Ubigi and Truphone offer data only plans and are ideal for those that travel.

esim.net offer both calls and data plans with very low per minute prices.

the above online eSim providers are unique in the respect they offer
a truly digital eSim delivery service.

I was up and running on esim.net in under 10 minutes.

The iPhone has a great feature to easily switch between the 2 sims to make calls to individual contacts setting a preferred sim for each contact.

You can even make and receives calls seamlessly with both sims

https://www.esim.net

With esim.net you can also choose to roam with o2, vodafone or three.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Be prepared to jump through hoops with the UK networks to even get an eSim

1. UK networks require you to have a pay monthly contract (PAYGO not supported)

  1. You still need to obtain a plastic sim card then apply for a sim swap to get an eSim

Great article here on eSim and supported networks only a few months old

A great reference point with links on how to get your UK eSim
