Is there a phone keypad way of finding the number of a phone?  Something like *#06*.   Android phones don’t store the number once a SIM has been changed.. amazing that its not been fixed yet.

Hi @Andrew1961

Welcome to iD Community.

Can you please confirm which you have.

Thanks,

Pearl

Hi Pearl,

Android phone.  My number has been ported over now so my need has gone, thanks.  Really I was just interested if this old function still exists, as its hard to find out from the techie websites.  I know its easier to ‘phone a friend’ but I don’t have many of those...:disappointed_relieved:

Hi there Andrew.

I’m not sure if there is a way to find out from a keypad shortcut.

Though if you go to Settings > About Phone (bottom option usually) > Phone Status
It should then be listed in there on whatever Android phone you’re using.

That was my initial point actually… Once you swap out a SIM card, on an Andriod phone, the Settings > About Phone will not show the phone number.  It needs a factory reset before it will register the number again.  Not a big deal though.

Hello @Andrew1961,

I know that you can call out from the SIM to a friend or family and the number will show.

You can get it this way.

Let us know if you still need help getting the number.

I don’t think there is a shortcode that can be used to get the number though.
