HELP PLEASE upgrade but i activated the new sim

I upgraded my sons phone. Without giving it another thought I activated the sim that came with the new phone  but we need him to keep his old number and I think  I have just messed this up. 

Stressed!!!!

Hi @M.hamil,

 

If you upgraded, then activating the SIM that arrived wouldn’t be an issue, as it would be activated to the existing number.

 

What is it that’s happened that makes you believe you may have made an error?

It is working I was just overthinking and because the sim didn't work right away.
