iPhone 5 no signal

I’ve tried upgrading software, removing card, resetting, switching airplane mode on and off - but nothing works 

is this service provider (ID) issue ...or possibly hardware in the phone?

Looks like a network failure. I've got absolutely no network with Google pixel phone.  

but my other iD phone is fine

actually you may be right - the other phone has just gone as well
