I just joined ID mobile, and the phone I ordered isn’t expected to ship until 31st December. Am I right in assuming the contract won’t start/I won’t be billed until I actually have my phone?
I have to give 30 days notice to my old network to cancel and trying to make sure I won’t be without a contract if I give it too early.

Did you purchase the new connection online or in store?
If it was Online, the sim and phone will be delivered on the date specified and the contract will not start until then and you won’t be charged.
If it was in store, the sim they gave you will not activate until the phone is dispatched and again you won’t be charged until then.
With your PAC code, you need the temporary number from the ID SIM card to submit the form and you won’t get that until the card is activated.
I would wait until the phone gets delivered to submit the PAC form to ensure you keep your same number with no issues.
