not receiving all text messages since ported to my old number


Since my sim changed to my old number, I am not receiving texts

i did as it said and checked settings changed to my old number but it’s still not working. Please help

When was your number port completed?

Who was your old mobile provider?

Are you Android or iPhone?

Did you get a new handset when you joined iD?

There are a few things to try initially:

  1. Turn your iPhone OFF for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Turn OFF iMessage and FaceTime - see if you receive text messages.
  3. With iMessage OFF send some text messages and ask the recipient to confirm your mobile number.

Hi @Suebr124, can you try this for me?

  • 1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
  • 2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
  • 3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
  • 4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
  • 5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
  • 6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

Tried both of these and it appears I’m still not getting texts from set people

Okay, so with iMessage and FaceTime TURNED OFF, you don’t receive text messages from certain people?

Is the correct mobile number showing in the following:

  • Settings > Apple ID > Name, Phone Numbers, Email > CONTACTABLE AT
  • Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed against “Start new conversations from:”

Have you had a different iPhone previously?

If so, have you checked the old device isn’t linked to your mobile number in your Apple ID? - sign-in at https://appleid.apple.com

 

  

Could someone from customer service contact me now please or I am cancelling my contract. I’ve been in numerous chats to no avail told it would be fixed within 48 hours and it’s still not fixed

Have you tried a Network Reset?

If you’re using iOS 15 or later then:

  • Tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

This will also reset any Wi-Fi networks and passwords, mobile data settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Seems you’ll definitely need assistance from iD Mobile to get this number porting issue fixed.

If you’re happy to wait here, then someone from iD may read your forum posts again, although it’s been nearly two weeks since iD last responded to your posts.

I suggest getting real-time assistance using the iD Live Chat service - if it doesn't work on your smartphone, then try another device like a tablet, iPad or laptop.

You can also chat to iD Mobile using facebook or Twitter.

Just remember one thing - the iD agents work between 9am - 8pm weekdays and 9am - 6pm weekends. Outside these times you’ll get an automated reply.
