Random person contacted from my mobile no?

After noticing a missed call from an unrecognised number, I texted asking who/why they had called.  Only to receive a reply that they had a missed call from my number?  I was wondering if this was unusual and if i should be doing something about it.

 

Appreciate any help.

Hi @David W,

Do you see the number within the call logs of your own phone? If not, then the call will not have been made from your phone account and it will not have used your allowances. I suspect that it may be someone who spoofed the call to show your number instead of their own number. There isn’t anything that can be done to stop this behaviour I’m afraid.

I’m unsure why someone would want to do that apart from wanting to mask their number from showing.

No, there was no outgoing call in the logs.  Guess there isn't much to be done about it then, which is unfortunate but reassuring.  Thank you.
