Same Sim, different phone, now iPhone is not activated?

Hi, so my old iPhone became water damaged in June 2019 and no longer worked, so I transferred the sim into a different iPhone, same model, (family member got an upgrade), and it’s worked fine for months until now.

Suddenly today about 2 hours ago my phone stopped being able to send text messages and now it says that my iPhone isn't activated and I should contact my provider? I’m not sure what to do.

I’ve tried the obvious turning it on and off several times, the first time it temporarily worked and the display said I had service for an incredible 40 seconds.

Any advice on how to proceed would be great, thanks.

It sounds as though you are probably caught up in that, and this shouldn’t be anything to worry about regarding your iPhone itself we shouldn’t think.
