Two devices with the same number.

My wife and I are both iD customers.  We have very basic SIM only deals with data rollover (which hardly ever gets used).  She's been given a phablet to use during long term (palliative) chemotherapy which might occasionally get used for calls.  Can she get another SIM linked to her existing number?

Hello @2247SteveB

Unfortunately there is no way to link one mobile number to two separate SIM cards. It is like a serial number of the device, two phones cannot have the same serial number assigned to it.

There is of course a workaround. You could get iD Mobile Pay as you go SIM or the cheapest available SIM Only deal and use "Call Forwarding" feature which means anyone who will call her current number will be redirected to her new number so then she will be able to pick up the phone call on another device.

You can read some more about call forwarding on the community over here.

Kind Regards

Gregor
