I was charged £1.50 each for 2 calls to my son's mobile even though I wasn't out of minutes. I also wasn't outside UK and nor was he. How do I get a refund or a company explanation?

I am sorry to hear this, if you had enough minutes left then you shouldn’t be charged if his number is a standard UK mobile number. Has this ever happened before?
Also, if you log into your account to view your usage, is the charge showing against the call to his number?
