Non-UK Credit Card?

Our daughter will be studying in the UK (London) for the Autumn semester. We'd like to get her a monthly sim card for her iPhone but were warned that some companies do not allow non-UK credit cards for payment. How 'bout IDMobile? She's only going to be there for 4 months and we don't want to open up new credit card accounts.

Hey @arseattle,

All of our SIMs require a UK bank account (though a UK account via Monzo should work).
You'll need 3 years worth of UK address history for a credit check as well as a UK address for the delivery though.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, it means we can't use iD Mobile. As I mentioned, our daughter is studying in London for just the one semester and needs a sim for, basically, 4 months. She's not going to be opening a UK bank account, let alone be able to have three years address history for a credit check. (It does seem strange that a customer would need all that for a monthly sim. Since you pay in advance, as you go, if payment doesn't go through, the sim just stops working. Any credit card or even paypal account should work for that kind of thing.)

Anyway, thanks again . . . we'll keep looking,
