What are you charging me for a sim I haven't recieved

I asked for a sim card well before Christmas, I filled in my details and bank details for direct debit, I have never recieved a sim card, so cancelled the direct debit, I'm now being bombarded with emails and letters (that have found my address unlike the sim card!) saying I have to pay for the first month?! For what?! I want this matter sorting and my account cancelled before I take this matter further!

We’re sorry to hear about the SIM card not arriving, it seems as though the SIM card has been lost in the post.

As you signed a contract for the SIM card, you should have let us know that the SIM card hasn’t arrived so that we could have reissued one or instead, cancel the plan for you. Cancelling the Direct Debit will lead to unpaid bills I’m afraid as we are not to know that the SIM card never arrived you see.
