When does my contract start?

I’ve searched your website and can’t find details about contract start dates as I’m looking to switch to ID Mobile.  Please can you confirm this, I would assume it would start the date the sim is activated and the service is being provided, and not from when the sim is ordered, as I obviously can’t use it whilst it’s in transit.  I have checked with other networks and they don’t charge until the sim is activated and the service is being provided, please can you confirm

Hello @karen1973,

 

The SIM card is activated upon dispatch.

It’s not possible to manually activate a new connection remotely.

 

Your first bill is produced within 24-hours of connection and the first bill payment taken 14-days later.

 

You can change future Direct Debit dates after the SIM arrives via the iD app/account.

Ah ok thanks, can you confirm when connection starts, will that be when you start using the sim for calls etc or when it’s dispatched/ordered?

We’d have the SIM activated on the same day it’s dispatched, to ensure that the SIM is all ready to go from the moment it arrives.
