Will I be charged to change my direct debit?

Hi, I was hit by a massive bill increase last month as I wanted to change my direct debit closer to payday and it wasn't made clear to me that I would be charged for this. Now I'd like to change my direct debit to come from my other bank account rather than my main one which is currently connected. Will I be charged for this too?

Hi @Allie T, it’s not that you’ve been charged extra, just that, when you change your Direct Debit date, you’re paying for a longer period of time. For example, if I push my Direct Debit date back by two weeks, then my next bill will include those two weeks in addition to my usual bill.

Changing the bank that the Direct Debit is taken from will have no impact on your bill :)

Thank you,

Rory
