leaving without app or account online

I need to cancel a contract. I took it out for my mum July 2019. She died unexpectedly in the August. I sold the phone and the number has never been used. I have tried several times to cancel but there is no phone for id to contact, the id bot is useless, i cant get to speak to anyone whether on live chat or any other way. 

Pretty lousy service
