unwanted direct debit

A new direct debit has been set up on my bank account without my knowledge. I assumed it was fraudulent as the payment doesn’t appear on my ID account. However I’ve just received an email (maybe because my email address is already tied to payments to ID going out of that bank account) saying that cancelling it will affect my credit rating. I can’t cancel the phone account it’s tied to as I don’t know anything about it. Help!
