How do you know there’s 5G coverage in your area @Robert Wang

I checked Three network which 5G covers Bournemouth town

Do I need a new SIM card for receiving 5G signal? Current card is 5 years old.

The good news is the Apple iPhone SE 2022 is approved for 5G operation on the iD Mobile network.

All new iD SIM cards are 5G enabled - because yours is 5 years old, you might need to arrange for it to be swapped.

I’d recommend double-checking with iD Mobile first.
For an immediate response, use the iD online chat service at https://idmobile.co.uk/live-chat.

The iD customer service agents work until 8pm weekdays - good luck.

The 5G coverage looks to be outdoors only in many areas in and around Bournemouth town.

Hey @Robert Wang, 5G is a mostly outdoor technology. The shorter wavelengths are great for transmitting large amounts of data, but poor at travelling long distances and penetrating walls.

Are you having trouble outdoors too?

Thank you,

Rory

Speedtest by Ookla is a good app to test for network area speeds and connectivity.
