sim not working sporadically

Hi.

My son has an iPhone 5s. Initially the id mobile sim worked just fine, however recently it has become sporadic, working occasionally but mainly saying'no sim card'. Any ideas how to fix this please?

Are there certain times of the day when the SIM card is not working?
