Broken speaker

On my new iPhone 7 I can’t make or receive calls. It either comes up with ‘call failed’ or no sound is heard. After attempting many actions from online articles and live chat, attention was bough to my camera that does not pick up sound and I cannot use the speaker button to record voice memos. I believe one of the speakers is broken on the phone (I can play music). Is this an issue I can fix through the iPhone settings or do I need fix the iPhone speaker for this problem to be solved so I can call people??? Thanks

You’ll need to get the speaker repaired.
You won’t be able to fix this through the iPhone settings.

It’ll probably be cheaper, and quicker, to get another iPhone 7 instead of repairing the speaker.

You can discuss your repair options with Apple online support, or in-store at Currys or Carphone Warehouse.

Hi @Tom Greenacre, sounds like you’d be best to book this in for a repair if it’s still in warranty, or pick up a new phone if not (as that’ll likely be cheaper)

If you do book it in for a repair, it’s the microphone that needs looking at, not the speaker.

Thank you,

Rory
