Imessage and facetime not working after porting


Before I even start, can I just say that I have tried all of the “common” reboot/restart techniques since Monday and these have not worked.

My number was ported to ID mobile on Monday 4th July and since then my IMessage and FaceTime won’t activate (keep getting the error message).

I’ve spoken to Apple support which remotely checked my mobile and came to the conclusion that the issue was to do with the network and not device misconfiguration.
I’ve tried a couple of different SIM cards and they all activate iMessage and FaceTime upon insertion. 
 

Can someone please tell me what else I need to do to get this sorted?

Oh dear @Cat Galambas, maybe the following will assist: 

  1. Turn OFF iMessage and FaceTime
  2. Sign Out of your AppleID on your iPhone.
  3. Turn OFF your iPhone.
  4. While the phone is OFF login to https://www.iCloud.com and also https://applieid.apple.com and check that the correct mobile number is linked to your iPhone you want to use with iD Mobile.
  5. If everything looks OK in step (4), turn ON your iPhone and Sign In with your AppleID. 
  6. Turn ON iMessage and FaceTime.

Okay @Cat Galambas,

  • What is the error message exactly - a screen-shot if possible?
  • What model iPhone are you using?
  • Is it a new iPhone from iD?
  • Have you got another iPhone that was used with the number you’ve just ported to iD?

I’m surprised Apple failed to resolve this issue - iMessage and FaceTime are Apple products that need a mobile data connection or Wi-Fi network to function properly.
