Internet/4G Coverage at Home

Userlevel 1

I’m having issues with 4G in my home. Since I always connect to my home WiFi this has never been an issue. But recently during a home broadband outage, I needed to use my phone for Internet.

My iPhone XR shows 4G connected but I cannot access anything online anywhere in my house, with sporadic access at best.

My partner is on EE and has no such issues.

How can I check and rectify this? When I got the SIM, the coverage was checked and all seemed fine.

Okay @caffeinateddigital,

First off, check for any network problems at your location using the Three online network status checker page at https://www.three.co.uk/support/network_and_coverage/network_support.

If the checker doesn’t show any issues at your location, double-check the theoretical coverage using the online page at https://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Network/Coverage, for your home.

Finally, fyi Three UK (iD Mobile’s network partner) are turning OFF their 3G network by end of 2024 - see more about this online at https://www.three.co.uk/hub/3g-network-news/.

Anyway, good luck.

There’s no current issues, and this has been an issue for a while.

I checked the theoretical coverage tool and all services indicate great coverage. But I’m not getting it.

So what would I do?

Okay @caffeinateddigital, just popped your home p/code into the Three network status checker online and got these results:

Looks like Three could be upgrading their network, in your area to support 5G (in addition to their 3G and 4G services).

If that’s the case, these works are likely to take weeks, not days.

Anyway, good luck.

Wow, thanks. I didn’t get that when I checked. Appreciate it.

Okay @caffeinateddigital - that’s odd.

FYI, the Three network status checker, for any given location, is updated every 30 minutes.
It does look like Three are upgrading their mobile network in your area.
