I’ve just upgraded, but want to unlock my old phone (so it has no network). Can somebody help?

How old is your old phone
FYI, from Dec 2021 onwards mobile networks were not allowed to sell locked phones.
If your old phone is older, then you’ll need to contact the mobile network that sold you the locked phone.
If you got your old phone from iD Mobile, I think they stopped selling locked handsets in 2017.
