Question

wifi calling on samsung galaxy a71

My a71 appears compatible and the configuration suggests its enabled. When on mobile calls I'm getting fed up being told the other person can't hear me or I keep cutting out. How do I know the WiFi calling is working?

Hello @ChrisToon,

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with WiFi Calling on your device.

Where did you purchase this from? Was this supplied on the contract by us?

WiFi Calling kicks in when the device’s mobile connection is too slow/poor and a stable WiFi connection is available.

Have you checked the device settings to turn this option on?

Mohammed

Hi Mohammed, yes bought it from you guys last summer. The configuration suggests it is enabled. How can I check it is using WiFi for my calls, maybe remove the SIM?

Hi @ChrisToon,

Please follow the instructions below to enable WiFi calling on your device:

  1. Press the phone icon.
  2. Press the menu icon.
  3. Press Settings.
  4. Press Wi-Fi Calling.
  5. Press the required SIM.
  6. Press the required setting to turn the function on or off.
  7. Press the Home key to return to the home screen.

If you’ve followed those instructions and selected on, you’ll know it’s using WiFi calling when able to. Removing the SIM card would not allow you to use WiFi calling. Have you tried turning on Airplane mode and then enabling WiFi? This would give us an idea if it’s being used or not.

Cheers,

Will
