I have a Samsung so is it best to use Samsung Pay or Google Pay?
I'd agree that Google Pay is the better option in terms of simplicity. The problem is Samsung Pay is far fewer phones use it, which might not be a problem for you right now, but if you upgrade to a different phone, might be an issue.

Thanks for your answer and for ease I think I'll go with Google 🙂

Since you have a Samsung, Samsung Pay is much more optimised for Samsung devices and will likely provide for a much better experience.
While Samsung runs Android, which is made by Google, it will likely be more streamlined on a Samsung device.
Something to consider however, is that Samsung has fewer banks that support it. You can check whether your bank supports Samsung Pay on Samsung's website covering the issue. 🙂
