iD Mobile - Pay As You Go SIM - How do I get a mobile number? (this is my first ever smart-phone)

Hello there,

I am a complete novice where smart-phones are concerned so please forgive me if I am being utterly dim.

I have just bought from Carphone Warehouse a cheap £89 Honor S7 smart-phone.

I also bought an iD Pay As You Go SIM (£5).

I have done all the initial setting up of the phone but it doesn't say that I have a number nor a network (wifi is okay).

I want to register with iD Mobile but without a number I am unable to do so (For the record, I have also downloaded the iD app).

Could some tell me how I go about getting a number for my phone? This is my first mobile phone so I can't even get a PAC to transfer a mobile number to my new Honor 7S phone.

Hello @MissKitty,

When you put the SIM in the phone, are you seeing no network coverage?
Have you tried manually searching for a network?

This is done by Tapping "Settings" followed by "More"
Then tap "Mobile Network"
Finally tap on "Carrier"

You should see a switch that says "Connect Automatically"
Turn this OFF.

Then wait a few minutes for the device to search.
From the list, choose iD from the list.
