SIM card not working

I bought my first i d sim only last week and after receiving it found out I had to have a ‘special one’ for an iPhone XR. I’ve now received the new SIM card but this doesn’t work either. The packaging doesn’t ask for the sim to be registered, just insert and off you go. I’m getting a bit frustrated which this whole process.

I'm sorry to hear this. That message of just inserting it and go is correct, but only if the SIM card has been sent to you for a new plan rather than just a replacement as is the case here.
