Ported my number but old number showing

I have requested to keep my number , have been told it’s done , I receive text from that number but texting out is from the I’d number , any ideas why this is ?

Howdy @Mandob, welcome to the ID Mobile Community forums.

Are you using an iPhone? If so, you may need to sign out of iMessage and manually enter the number you have moved over.

Let us know how you get on there.

Hello, I have turned my iMessage and FaceTime off. Every time I change the number it doesn’t save. Can you advise what I need to do. I received a message to say it had been ported but the old number still comes up.

Hi @Kelly Paton,

Please can you give the following steps a try, in order, and then see if the issue has been resolved?

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct. 
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"
