Hi guys, I took out a new phone and SIM last week filled in the transfer form provided PUK code to keep my old number everything went smoothly and the number was changed over with no issues....but now when someones messages me and I reply it shows on my home as a full conversation but replies from the original SIM number not my number that was transferred..same as when I open chat settings it shows as the number that was originally on the SIM not my transferred number. How do I stop this so the messages I send come appear to come from my previous transferred number, I hope this makes sense.

Thank you

What handset are you using with your iD SIM?

When was your number port (to iD Mobile) completed?

Hi @Jessica01, if you’re using an iPhone, try this:

  • 1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
  • 2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
  • 3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
  • 4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
  • 5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages) 6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you’re using using an Android device, try this:

  • On your device, open Messages
  • At the top right, tap Settings
  • Tap Chat features
  • Toggle 'Enable chat features' to OFF.
  • Turn the phone off, wait 15 minutes, then power the phone back on
  • Try to send a message again.
  • Now toggle ‘Enable chat features’ to ON and see if everything’s working

If that still doesn’t work,  I’d recommend contacting the Facebook, Twitter or Live Chat teams so they can take a look at your account.

Thank you,

Rory
