Can I keep my number even if it is not a UK number?

I moved to the UK from Sweden a few months ago and am looking for a new phone contract. Being able to keep my number would obviously be very convenient!

I'm afraid that you can't port in a non-UK phone number to your UK phone contract; I do apologise for any inconvenience caused!
