No SIM detected abroad

went to Lanzarote and no sim detected . occasionally straight after restart it would pick up roaming then turn off and say no service.plus the phone kept turning off and on again 6-10 times a day.what on eath is going on ?" Came back to UK and all works fine again.

Hi Heather, it's odd to see that your phone has had these problems whilst away but good to hear its back to normal now, perhaps it was too hot or has become damaged by water?

If you do have any other problems with the phone you can take it into a Carphone Warehouse to be sent for assessment, however, if water damage is detected, this would not be covered by the phone warranty.

Thank you for your response. The phone started doing this the minute I got off the plane .not hot or water damaged . Most bizarre is the fact that since I came home none of the problems have happened..
I think if I go abroad again I will just take a different phone.
