can't get sim to work in another phone

HI

my phone recently went on a spin cycle in my washing machine and a friend has given me one of their old phones (same make and model). When i try to put old sim in new phone it states “sim not supported” it says the network provider is not supported?

 

Does anyone have any idea how i can get sim to work in new phone please?

Hello @Fuservolver21 

 

The phone may be locked to another network.

I would ask you friend to contact the network provider the phone was last used on and ask them to unlock the handset.

thanks Michelle , ill see how i get on with that, hopefully wont have to get it unlocked at a shop.

Most networks have an online form you can fill in to request a handset unlock.
