iPhone not sending or receiving SMS

I have a new iPhone and my daughter has had one for some time without issue, but neither of us can send or receive SMS at the moment.  Android phones in the house are not affected. I’ve tried the various solutions posted here and nothing works.  Any ideas?

Hi @donnanisbett,

Are both the handsets new? have you tried toggling iMessages off and on again/

Will

One new, one a year old

Have tried toggling iMessage, network reset, hard reset and checking stored number

Possibly related to ios 14.3 update?

Apple are saying this…

1. Verify that the device information matches what the carrier has for this device (IMEI/ICCID/etc.)
2. Verify you have the correct provisioning for Group MMS as some carriers provision this separately from MMS.
3. Verify that you can send/receive MMS messages.
4. Verify that you can send/receive SMS messages from Short code numbers.
5. If need be, have the carrier complete a re-provisioning of the cellular account.

but chat is ‘experiencing unusually high volumes’ so no chance of connecting with anyone from ID...as is often the case…

Hi @donnanisbett,

We did have some network issues relating to the sending and receiving of text messages on Saturday, but these have since been fixed. Are you still having the same issue, or is it resolved now?
