Question

Message failed to send

I have an iPhone 5. For several months i have been unable to send messages to non iPhones unless I turn iMessage off first. However even this isn’t working now and I can very rarely send text messages. Please let me know what I need to do to be able to send messages again - most of my contacts do not have iPhones or WhatsApp so it’s becoming frustrating.

Hi @Tdurham,

Please can you give each step a go to see if it helps?

1) Try turning off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is still correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from:”.

Hi @Tdurham
Can you just look in Settings > My number to see if this is correct please.

In iMessage, can you also check the send and receive options you have to ensure they are accurate.

Phil
