my new sim card isnt working

I have recently bought a new iphone 11 with a SIM card package. I want to use the SIM card in my old iPhone XR and the sim will not register I have put the sim in both phones and it says ”no SIM card” but i received a text message in the xr saying  my line is active. I have tried everything,it hasn’t worked and the useless live chat was no help either

I am sorry to hear about that. So the SIM card is not working in either of the phones; was the iPhone 11 purchase part of an upgrade? If so, did you receive a new SIM card with the phone?

Was the iPhone XR also bought from us?

Yes the SIM card will not register in both phones and the iPhone 11 is a monthly 24 month contract with the if sim bundle. The iPhone XR was a separate contract bought from virgin but the phone is unlocked as I have used other sims
