Old sim not working in new phone

I have bought a new phone (iPhone X), when I put my ID Mobile SIM in the phone, the message appearing says it is blocked for some reason. The phone is unlocked. Someone who I asked about this said I might need an upgraded SIM for this phone. I am moving from an iPhone 7 to a iPhone X. What kind of problem is this and how do I fix it?

Hi @jdowmark,

We can issue you with a new SIM card to see if this helps, however, has a third network SIM card been used in the phone to test that the phone is unlocked? You can request a new SIM by contacting our Live Chat Team here.

Turns out the phone is locked to O2, so I need to unlock it first in order to use my ID Mobile card.
