SMS failed message when it has sent

I have recently joined iD and have transferred my number over and got a text to say it has been successful. However, whenever I send an SMS it says it has failed to send when it has because I get replies. I have turned my phone off and on multiple times but I’m not sure what to do from here

Hi, Amelia.
If you have an android phone you could try this method.
Go to Settings
Then Apps
Select Messages
Force stop
Then click on storage
Finally clear cache and restart your phone
I had this problem once, this solved the problem. If it dosen't work you could try clearing the data using the same method, though you'd loose your message history if you do this.

Just seen it's for ios 😂
There should be a way to clear cache on ios tho.

So after a little looking around i think i've found something you could try.
-Turn off iMessage in settings > Messages and restart your phone
-Go back to settings, phone and then My number.
(Check to see if this displays your number, if not enter your number)
-Then turn iMessage back on in the settings
-Go back to settings > Messages > Send & Recieve and check to see if the correct number is displayed under the "Start new conversations: from"
This seems to happen after porting a number across.
