Unlock an old iPhone 8 thats locked to ID

Hi, I recently upgraded my son to an iPhone 12 with ID, from an iPhone 8. How can I get the iPhone 8 unlocked so I can give it to my dad?

Hi Julie,

It’s usually only the older iPhone models that tend to lock to networks, the iPhone 8 should already be unlocked from past experiences. Please can you try another network SIM card inside the phone and let us know if it works?
