Hi James. iPhone 6 is capable for running ID Mobile sim if we speaking about specification of the phone. But your phone might have been locked to Vodafone which will require you to have it unlocked. You could try to insert any none Vodafone SIM and see if it register to a network. iPhone may say "SIM is not supported" which means you will need to unlock it.
To unlock your phone you would need to go to Vodafone store (if you had contract with them and purchased your phone there) or to your local phone shop and pay for unlock service.
